Grove Gallery Exhibition
I’m thrilled to be part of a group show at The Grove Gallery in Tunbridge Wells, Kent with the theme “This Farming Life”. I was even more thrilled when the gallery used one of paintings for their flyers and then put all four of my paintings in the window!
“This Farming Life Exhibition” at The Grove Gallery with my four paintings in the window display
Back in August I was approached by the gallery to submit for the show but I didn’t think I had anything appropriate for the theme of “This Farming Life” so I suggested that I paint a few specifically for the show. I went to the Castle Farm Lavender Farm (see previous post on that) and created some plein air studies, from which I created two paintings. I also did a painting of a field with hay bales. Lastly as it had been such a hot summer and all the fields had turned to yellow straw and the farmers were struggling with the drought, I created a painting titled “When the Grass Turned to Straw”. Happily the gallery accepted all four paintings
There was a great turnout at the Private View. The show is on until Nov 4th so if you find yourself in Tunbridge Wells, do pop along to see it. Thanks Grove Gallery for a lovely show with a great theme!
