1- Day Landscape Painting Workshop
Wickham Manor, Winchelsea, East Sussex
: Price: £135 (min group x4)
Should the forecast be terrible, we will reschedule for a better day.
I hope you can make it. It’s going to be fun!
To join the day, please use the sign up button below. I’ll then email instructions about how to pay.
In this workshop, we’ll be painting the stunning scenery surrounding Wickham Manor. This historic Manor house is the location for film sets, and is surrounded by breathtaking landscape. There is plenty to choose from to paint, from the stunning views, to the old barns, the ruins of the stone arch or the vineyards of the winery. This really is a wonderful opportunity for a splendid painting day in gorgeous surroundings. Even the trees are picturesque.
I’ll be giving a short demo in the morning and you’ll be encouraged to paint freely and impressionistically in the afternoon. We’ll finish the day with a glass of vino and a shared charcuterie platter from the Charles Palmer vineyards (included in the price)
Suitable for oil or acrylic painters

This workshop is great for beginners who may simply wish to sketch on the day, and is also suitable for established artists who might wish to paint in a new location with like-minded company.
What to bring:
If you are just beginning your location painting experience, you may prefer just to bring a camping chair, and a sketchbook or a drawing board with papers and paints (I can provide drawing boards to rest on if you wish).
For more experienced artists, please bring your own en plein air painting equipment, such as:
A field/plein air easel & tripod
brushes and a palette knife
paints & Solvents: I’ll be using oils but you can bring acrylics if you wish. If using water-based media, I suggest bringing a tube of burnt sienna gouache and an ultramarine gouache for the underpainting.
Painting panels can be provided with a pink/orange ground. Please let me know if you’d like one?
A jar for water or solvents, rags or kitchen roll, a plastic bag for rubbish. Painting gloves if needed.
Please remember to bring suitable clothing or aprons and suitable footwear
If you are lacking any painting equipment or are travelling from abroad or further afield, please let me know and I can assist.
