Join me virtually as I paint fortnightly starting in October. More information coming soon. Studio Buddies is basically an online art club where I’ll be painting and discussing all things art. You can either follow along with your own painting in the comfort of your home or you can just watch and join in the chat. I’ll be covering all different kinds of styles and topics so it will be varied. Mostly I’ll be using oils.

Some examples of topics we’ll be covering:

  • Painting all kinds of landscapes, boats, trees, seascapes, flowers etc

  • Painting in different styles such as impressionistic or tonalist

  • How to break down complicated photos into simple shapes and eliminating detail

  • How to create distance and atmosphere

  • Looking at historic artists for inspiration

  • The different ways I paint an underpainting

  • Colour temperature and edges etc

There will be a facebook page for the group to post your own paintings and offer advice and support to each other. It’s also where I’ll be posting details about the forthcoming week’s class and any reference photos. This will be a private FB page so not open to the public to see.

Please note, it’s the first time I have tried to teach online, so please bear with me if there are technical teething problems - I’m not the most tech savvy so I’m sure there will be!
