Biography

Heidi Laughton is an artist based in Bath, UK.  Her paintings of peaceful abstract landscapes lend a calming presence to interior spaces.  Painted in an impressionistic style, with soft colour palettes, they create a sense of atmospheric tranquility

Heidi’s artistic curiosity and innate desire to seek out creativity, means that she has always been immersed in visual imagery in a variety of forms. Most of her former career was in creative services, working for BMG Records and Sony Music, commissioning and overseeing music video production.

Heidi has also worked as a professional photographer in the US, working for advertising, music and editorial brands, and has been a judge at international photography fairs. Heidi has written and photographed for various magazines and for humanitarian brands such as the American Red Cross. Her travelling photographic exhibition “Spirit Hawk Eye: A Celebration of American Native Culture” has been exhibited at galleries and museums in the US and UK and can be viewed here

Heidi’s painting style is organic and intuitive.  Her paintings have been described as impressionistic and atmospheric. Often starting with one idea, Heidi will push the boundaries of the mediums to see the effects they will produce, and the paintings will then evolve into something surprising. Often it’s the nuances of subtle colour combinations which are evocative and beautiful.

Heidi continues to learn and expand her painting techniques, and enjoys experimenting with different media.  Hence her painting style is continually evolving.
